THE NEED:
Railway crossings have always been a hard ask, especially when it comes to a long-lasting, quick drying durable line marking. Level crossings have a high volume of mixed traffic and due to the constantly moving hard rubber Strail crossing pads, getting a marking to stay down for longer than 6 months has been a near impossibility. Meon took on the challenge to develop a high performing line that had to work, last and look great.
SOLUTION:
RoadLine Q285 has been developed specifically for the application of level crossing markings. Not only does Q285 offer excellent adhesion to the rubber Strail matting, the visibility and bead retention is second to none. The paint is very hardwearing, can dry quickly, work in challenging environments and withstand transverse shear pressure. RoadLine Q285 delivers a highly reflective line to mitigate risks in potentially dangerous sections of the road. As Q285 lasts so much longer than traditional marking methods, the need to carry out expensive and costly seasonal maintenance to lines and markings is eliminated.
THE SUMMARY:
The maintenance contractor involved was very impressed with the product, including the all in one kit and ease of application.
