SITUATION
Following the Ironwork Permafyx Trial Meon carried out on the A40, Kier put forward an ideal site for trialling the Ultraline MMA, cold applied line marking material. The location of this site was on the A4 just off the Waggoners Roundabout and involved remarking some parking bays on lane 1 of a red-route. Again, these works were carried out at night under a lane closure with an IPV.
SOLUTION
The area was swept and marked out prior to mixing the Ultraline, ready for installation. The work was completed using a battery-operated mixing paddle to mix the material and involved no hot works or large equipment, greatly reducing risks of injury and no carbon output due to this system being all cold applied.
SUMMARY
Given this location is within the peripheral area of Heathrow, it will be subject to a high volume of traffic which will provide us with an excellent opportunity to monitor the performance of the Ultraline L210.
