The main working part of the Graco Line Lazer Spray Machine is the fluid pump; there is provision for lubricating the pump and it is essential this is done regularly as this will keep the pump shaft free of paint build up and keep seals lubricated. There is a small reservoir at the top of the pump body and this needs to be kept full. Failure to lubricate will result in premature pump seal failure, in this article, you will learn how to keep it lubricated using Throat Seal Liquid (TSL).
1. Preparation
After machine has been cleaned at end of the shift.
2. Adjust The Lever To Upright (On) Position
Adjust the lever to the upright (on) position and ensure the piston is at its lowest point to allow the lubricant to fill the top chamber.
3. Application Of TSL
Insert the nozzle of lubricant through the small guard that protects the pump piston shaft. Squeeze lubricant bottle and allow lubricant to run down shaft, through the small gap between shaft and black seal washer that protects the lubricant reservoir.
4. Do Not Overfill
Do not overfill, stop filling once oil starts oozing out of top of black seal washer.
5. Wipe off Any Excess
Wipe off any excess to prevent dirt collecting on it.
We recommend adding lubricant at the end of every shift.
If there is any paint collecting on the visible part of the pump piston shaft it is a clear sign that there is not enough lubricant in the reservoir. Or it could also indicate the pump seals are wearing down and may need replacing, these can be bought here, or alternatively can be fitted as part of our Graco Servicing Package.
6. Adjust Lever Back To Original (Off Position)
Adjust lever back to original (off position).
REMEMBER!
We recommend adding lubricant at the end of every shift. If there is any paint collecting on the visible part of the pump piston shaft it is a clear sign that there is not enough lubricant in the reservoir.
