Bosch Service Yard Line Marking Refresh

The Challenge

The Bosch service yard in Worcester required a refresh of its line markings to ensure clarity, safety, and compliance.

The existing markings had faded over time, reducing visibility and potentially impacting operational efficiency.

A solution was needed that would not only restore the markings but also ensure durability and a quick return to service.

The Cold-Applied Approach

Spectrum Solution Advisors recommended a two-stage approach to address the challenge. First, the surface was prepared using shotblasting to ensure optimal adhesion for the new markings.

Following this, Spectrum ViaLine F210, a solvent-based line marking paint, was applied. This product is toluene-free, fast-drying, and specifically designed for high-traffic areas such as roads, car parks, and distribution centres.

The paint was applied twice in green and yellow acrylic to enhance visibility and longevity.

The Results

The project delivered a fully prepped and primed surface with crisp, durable line markings.

The fast-drying nature of ViaLine F210 allowed the service yard to return to operation swiftly, minimising downtime.

The refreshed markings not only improved safety and navigation but also enhanced the overall appearance of the site.

“Nottingham City Council’s Parking Team are on a real push towards sustainability.

It’s quite tricky within parking services we are reliant on the cars and visitors to the city, but we’re really moving towards encouraging more sustainable vehicles, for example, the 80 charge points in Broadmarsh carpark which are powered by the 720 solar panels on its roof.

We really want sustainability at the heart of everything we do within parking, including this electric line marking machine.”

“MMA lasts for 5 years, whereas the standardized and less sustainable method of thermoplastic screed, lasts only 3 years.

The use of MMA cuts down on future installations and the renewal of line marking, therefore less resources are required throughout each scheme, resulting in an improvement in our long term environmental impact.”

“We think it looks epic, and so does Worcester Bosch!”
