PERMAFYX L271

TRAFFORD COUNCIL FOOTWAY REPAIR

Trafford Council, Regent Road, Altrincham, WA14 1RP

Applied on 8th October 2020

The Need:

A failing footway surface in a sensitive urban area was becoming a trip hazard for pedestrians. The client was looking for a system that could be applied directly over the existing surface without the noise and physical disruption of excavation.

Solution:

The PermaFyx L271 met all requirements set out by the client and was successfully applied without disrupting nearby school activities. The application was made on a wet morning which meant the substrate had to be dried using a turbine surface dryer prior to any material being laid. The deeper voids were filled using a 2-6mm mix and then the complete area was overcoated using a 1-3mm mix to give a safe, flat and durable surface that could be trafficked within 30 minutes.

Summary:

The opportunity to make the repair without noise, vibration or heavy machinery disruptions was welcomed by the client. Initial feedback from the client was extremely positive and, subject to good durability being achieved, they will be investing in more material for future projects.

System Used

PermaFyx L271 MMA Surface Repair with 1-3mm and 2-6mm aggregate mixes.
