HAUC 2023 CONVENTION

Tuesday the 25th of April, 2023

The Meon team were excited for the opportunity to exhibit our specialist line marking and surface repair products at the prestigious Highway Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC) Event, held at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

The event focus for 2023 was climate change and the role that the street works sector plays in mitigating the negative effects of climate, reducing carbon emissions, the road to net zero carbon emissions and putting the environment at the heart of the sectors work.

The HAUC event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our services and expertise, alongside our Magma Range of products to many professionals across the Highway and Utilities industries.

As line marking and surface repair specialists, we were pleased to showcase a fantastic range of new cold lay and HAPAS approved products, in line with the focus for the event and a valuable solution for the street works sector looking to reach their carbon goals in 2023.

Setup

Our journey began early Tuesday morning, the Meon team set off from our main office in Portsmouth, ready for a busy day conversing with professionals.

Once arriving at the Emirates Old Trafford, the team began setup of our informative stand, containing ironwork reinstatement demonstrations, product samples, brochures and freebies.

The team were looking forward to networking with other professionals in our industry, build new relationships, provide advice and exchange knowledge.

The Event

The HAUC event was a day of informative presentations, panel discussions and workshops.

The convention agenda featured greatly important topics, featuring The Road to Net Zero, The Safety Challenge, The Infrastructure Race and The Role of Data in Defining Legislation, Guidance and Delivery.

For a full list of the HAUC agenda see here.

Overall, the day bought about important conversations about the collaboration between authorities, utilities providers and contractors, for efficient street works management and delivery.

It is important to consider the impact that our services have on climate change, how together we can be proactive and adopt new products, methods, legislation and new best practises to reduce our impact on the environment.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who visited the team at our stand, each conversation bought great insight into challenges within the industry, and we are always happy to provide specialist advice and product recommendations.

We hope it was clear to anyone who spoke to the team that we are passionate about our line marking and surface repair solutions. At Meon, we take pride in delivering great surfaces.
